I decided to start by processing a bunch of jeans, wandering from corner to corner for more than a month. The idea came quickly - a vest, which one - a tailcoat. I love and wear vests, I have great sympathy for tailcoats. It was further spurred by the fact that I had not seen such a thing.

I warn you, I can’t sew, but I sew. You can laugh or be terrified at looking at the process, but some of this usually turns out :)

So, I don’t have any patterns, of course, but I have a good old vest, which is quite a model. I remove the pattern from it with tracing paper, transfer it to paper.

I rip off the prepared jeans, I wonder how it is convenient to arrange the pattern, what color flaps to choose for a particular part. In general, the concept of the vest will not change, but the tailcoat will be added, so I leave the widest part of jeans untouched for now. I cut out the details of the front shelf and back, stitching.

I cut out the collar, which I also “sketch” from the sample vest. The collar goes into the front folds, I draw them on the eye, taking into account the amount of fabric, of course.

The collar, however, had to be made of two parts, in a different way. I cut out the inside of the collar, which also goes into the hem of the fold, already from other jeans in a contrasting dark color. I sew, work on the edges.

Cutting out a subboard. Probably, it would be more correct to stitch the collar and collar right away, but it’s so inconvenient for me, so I first grind the collar, then the collar, and then fix everything with a decorative line. On the sides I don’t attach to the end, because you will need to sew on the rear tails of the tailcoat. Here, again, according to science, it would be more correct to first sew the front and back, but since I completely fold the halyards, it is more convenient for me to customize them later.

I cut out the rear halyards and hem, they are a smooth continuation of the front. I make two small tucks. I sew everything.

Now I quilted the collar and the folds in several rows of lines. This will make the collar very tight, as after gluing. And it looks cool.

Long thought to make pockets or not, decided - if done, then interesting. As a result, she did a simple thing - she schematically stitched a rear view of the tailcoat.)

The button is one at the waist level, she nibbled it herself on the second attempt, more precisely, the second attempt was already with another button - she saved it.

Everything about everything took two and a half pairs of jeans. Only on the tip! The main ones, of which I cut the lower part, the collar and several parts of the shelves, were rather wide men's jeans, it would hardly have turned out of ordinary straight models. I don’t have an overlock, so I worked with a line for knitwear, it seems to me prettier than a zigzag. She didn’t do the lining, as it was somehow more authentic, or something :)
