Varshita says, “Sabyasachi spotted me at his jewellery exhibition last year at Taj Corromondel in Chennai. He walked up to me and told me that I have a really good skin and that I was very beautiful. I was very chuffed and it really made my day. We had a little chat and two months later his team got in touch with me and asked me to come to Calcutta for a test shoot. It’s a dream come true to work with him.

From the very beginning, I’ve been quite interested in taking care of my skin. I’m blessed with good genes, so I try and make it a point to use that to my advantage by using the right products and the right amount of product on my skin. Even when I do my makeup, I follow the ‘less is more’ mantra. I invest more on skin care than makeup.
I also like the whole ritual element. And I follow my skin care routines religiously. It’s quite therapeutic for me to set aside some time for self-care everyday even when I’m running on busy schedules. Also, it makes me feel like I have some control over how my skin will look and age. I find it very positive and liberating.
‘Hydrate, moisture and sleep well’. This is my skin care mantra.
My Skin Type: I have combination skin.
Morning Routine

I like to start my morning routine with a gentle cleanser. I use Forest essentials Mashobra honey, lemon and rose water facial cleanser. I like to spray Avene thermal spring water after cleansing and then I pat dry with a cotton pad after waiting for a few seconds. It really calms and soothes my skin the morning. I’m a big fan of Skin Ceuticals products and I use their A.G.E eye complex eye cream which has really helped me get rid of dark circles and puffiness around my eyes.
I then like to moisturise my face with my Kiehls ultra facial moisturiser which is also super light on the skin. In winters, I replace it with my forever favourite Embryolisse Lait creme concentrate which can also be used as a primer before makeup and it really softens your skin. After my moisturiser, I apply La Roche posay sunscreen which has an SPF of 50+ so I know that my skin is well guarded from the sun and I keep re applying it throughout the day.
For my body, I like to use Kiehls Creme de Corps body moisturiser which keeps my skin moisturized the whole day.
If there’s one product I could live with for the rest of my life, it’s my Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream which has countless uses. I use it every day on my lips as a balm and sometimes I use it on my brows and elbows as well.
Night time Routine

My night time routine is a little more complex. I use Avene Cleanance gel as a face wash because it is gentle and helps me get rid of all the dirt. I follow it up with a toner such as Pixi glow tonic and this product is definitely one of my favourites and I use it only at nights because of its exfoliating properties. I love using serum at nights and I keep trying something new every few months and the ones that have really worked for me so far is the Estée Lauder ANR serum which needs no introduction and Kama Ayurveda miraculous beauty fluid. After I apply serum, I like to massage my face with a jade roller. It really stimulates the muscles and gives my face a refreshed, radiant look. I use the Shiffa jade facial massage roller and I think it’s the best one out there. This is also my favourite step in my skin care routine.
After this step, I apply my Forest essentials Date and Litchi night cream. I have used this night cream for years and I have trouble moving on. I just love the way it smells and softens my skin.
Prepping for a big event

Before any big event, I like to use a super hydrating mask such as SK-II Facial Treatment Mask. It is brimming with Pitera essence which nourishes the skin and gives it the appearance that you’ve just had a facial done. A lot of beauty editors and models swear by this product.
I love using Rohto Z eye drops to help me relieve dryness and redness in the eyes and make them look brighter.
I’m in love with Charlotte Tilbury magic cream which I use a primer before makeup. It moisturizes and brightens my skin immediately.

I cannot stress this enough but you need to remove your makeup before going to bed no matter how exhausted you are. I love using Neutrogena makeup remover cleansing towelettes since it removes the most stubborn makeup and is very quick and easy to use. I like to follow it up with my Bioderma H2O micellar water to soothe my skin and remove any makeup residue.
I don’t specifically look for anti-aging products. I just use products that are gentle and paraben free.
Good skin is also a result of healthy food and exercise. I like to start my day with two teaspoons of Apple cider Vinegar and warm water. I also try and eat home cooked on most of the days and I love drinking vegetable smoothies. I also mix two teaspoons of ghee in my rice or chapathy.
I indulge in moderate exercise. I go swimming twice a week and walk for 30 minutes every day.
