#SareeStoriesWithRitu: Going the crepe route
Crepe saree | Saree Stories With Ritu
Sarees, my forever love! I personally just need an excuse or the smallest of occassions to dig out an occasion- appropriate saree from my ever expanding collection (which I’m secretly proud of too).
Today I’m going to share with you this gorgeous crepe saree that I recently added to my collection, and wore for a small puja ceremony at home. Since it is pretty chilly here in Delhi, I chose to wear it with a full-sleeve black woollen blouse to keep myself comfortable. The pastel green saree, with a contrasting brocade pallu and border all around, is studded with tiny crystals all around.
The beauty of a crepe fabric lies in the fall- the way the fabric drapes around your body and twists and turns as you walk. I just love how comfortable this fabric is, and is so easy to carry almost the entire day. There’s just one down side, though. This fabric tends to get wrinkled easily, so you need to be a little careful in that department. But a lot of saree fabrics pick up wrinkles, so it’s ok 😉
Crepe doesn’t require too much maintenance for storage, hence it is easy to maintain. You will, however, need to get them dry-cleaned for sure, since it can be risky washing these at home.
This particular saree that I’m wearing is from Brijraj, a Chandni Chowk based fashion brand which retails online through brijraj.com and has an extensive collection of work to party wear sarees, that too at a good budget! You basically have Chandni Chowk prices delivered to the comfort of your home when you shop with them, and I highly recommend them!
Do share your love for crepe sarees in the comments below. Until next time, ladies!
