Mary-Kate Olsen’s Take on Equestrian Style Is Super Chic
Mary-Kate Olsen knows a thing or two about stealth chic: as one half of the duo behind The Row with her sister Ashley Olsen, the designer excels at creating the kind of luxurious understated pieces that stand the test of time. It only makes sense then, that this quietly elegant aesthetic would inform her personal wardrobe—even when it comes to riding. Yesterday, Olsen nailed equestrian style while riding her steed, Naomi, at the Longines Global Champions Tour in Paris, France.
Mounted ontop of her horse, Olsen was seen wearing an all-white ensemble consisting of a classic show shirt and jodphur pants. She accessorized with black leather riding boots, a black belt, and black helmet (because safety first). Once dismounted, the designer then added a burgundy hat and black sunglasses to her ensemble, giving it more of a Parisienne twist.
If her riding outfit of choice all seems very The Row, it shouldn’t come as a total surprise: Olsen has spoken about how riding has influenced her designs in the past. “One of The Row's first blazers was inspired by one of my first show jumping coats," Olsen has said. “My sister and I always think about fit and comfort when designing anything, which is important in equestrian clothing as well.”
