This Wash and Go with Three Side Braids

This Side Braid with a Twist

First, part your hair on the left with your fingers (so it doesn't look too perfect), and then grab a section of hair along your hairline and separate it into two pieces. Begin twisting them toward the back of your head, adding in more hair along the perimeter of your forehead.

Sweep the rest of your remaining hair over to the right side and separate it into three sections; incorporate the twist into one of them and start to three-strand braid your hair. This Super-Thick Side Braid

Regardless of whether your hair is clean or a little dirty, start with some dry shampoo to add extra grip (and soak up any excess oil), and then get rid of any tangles with a paddle brush. From there, YouTuber The Freckled Fox suggests creating a deep side part on the opposite side of where you want the braid to be, before grabbing a rectangular section of hair.

Next, split that section into two and cross the front piece over the back strand. Continue the rope braid by adding more hair to the front section and then cross it over the back piece yet again.
