A History Of Every Celebrity Feud With Jeffree Star

- июня 08, 2019

Love or hate Jeffree Star, you can't deny that the man has talent.
Since becoming the most-followed person on Myspace in 2006 (quite the accolade), he's created a multi-million dollar empire for himself. In Shane Dawson's wildly successful YouTube doco-series, "The Secret World of Jeffree Star", Jeffree claimed that Jeffree Star Cosmetics racks in over $100 million USD worth of profits per year. Jeffree's wardrobe alone, is apparently estimated to be worth over seven million dollars.
However, the 32-year-old is not shy of the controversy that seemingly comes with the success.
Jeffree has been involved in countless Twitter exchanges, feuds and crossfires over the past few years. This shouldn't be surprising. Jeffree is known for his unapologetic, no-holds-barred approach to both the beauty blogging community and the Hollywood in general—an attitude that has rubbed many influencers and brands the wrong way.
All you need to do is watch Jeffree's video below, using a full-face of products made by brands that "hate" him, to smell the beef.
Throughout his career, Jeffree has found himself in so many online feuds, it's hard to keep up. So, we've done the legwork for you.
Please scroll down for a complete timeline of the most iconic Jeffree Star fall-outs of all time. Sit yourself down, pour some of that chamomile or spicy chai, and quench your thirst on this flaming tea.
How could we start this list without mentioning the legendary Von D and Jeffree Star fiasco that has spanned over 10 years?
Here's a brief update: there's still no love lost between the two. Kat recently responded to someone on Instagram, writing "Jeffree who?". Jeffree then promptly reminded Kat that the 'Jeffree' liquid lipstick was still for sale on her website, insinuating that she was still making money off the 'Jeffree Star' name.
The 'Jeffree' liquid lipstick was still available for online purchase at Sephora up until a couple of months ago, despite Kat Von D wanting Sephora to take it down. "The fact that you have a face of a brand," Jeffree said, "and your name is on the packaging, and you couldn't even tell them and get my shade taken down? Can't relate. I own my own company."

Kylie Jenner

It's no secret that Jeffree loves throwing shade at Kylie Cosmetics when reviewing the beauty mogul's products—but what about that time last year when they went in on the youngest Jenner for apparently copying Jeffree's packaging?
"I gotta know ONE THING... With all that f**king money she's made," Jeffree tweeted. "Why did @kyliecosmetics use the SAME PACKAGING as my liquid lipsticks that have been out since 2014??? Invest and make something different maybe?"
Later in the year, Jeffree questioned the reasoning behind Kylie Cosmetic's ridiculously pricy $360 makeup brush set. "Are the new @kyliecosmetics makeup brushes made out of animal hair? Is that why they're so expensive?? BITCH I'M STILL DUMBFOUNDED!!!!"
This led to Kylizzle taking Jeffree off her PR list, but then putting him back on.

Kim Kardashian

When KKW Beauty announced the release of powder their contour kits, Kim posted some swatches that, according to Jeffree, looked a little off. "Umm... Kim what is going on with those new swatches??" Jeffree tweeted. "Looks like chalk."
"I see that my fans are totally hating on someone like Jeffree Star for being honest about my struggle swatches," Kim responded. "But because of his remarks, I'm learning... how to swatch properly."
Then Kim seemed to defend some of Jeffree's controversial racist comments. This caused some havoc online, forcing her to backtrack: "I really didn't have the right to say 'get over it' to a situation that involves racism."

Laura Lee, Manny Mua, Gabriel Zamora and Nikita Dragun

Last year, Jeffree tweeted an advertisement alongside the caption, "Walking into your ex-best friends funeral like..." Most fans interpreted this as a sub-tweet about fellow beauty influencer Laura Lee.
"The beauty community has turned into such an ugly place full of evil people," Jeffree subsequenty tweeted. "I've learned some really big life lessons lately the hard way and I'm just thankful I have all of you guys, Nate and my family." This is thought to involve Manny MUA as well. They had a limited collection together before the friendship turned sour.
Following this, Jeffree responded to a fan's comment about whether he was still friends with Laura. Jeffree replied, "You know nothing about her personally. Her soul is pure evil."
Then, Laura Lee and Manny MUA joined forces—wait, it gets pettier—and became new 'best friends'. The duo appeared in a photo alongside other beauty influencers Nikita Dragun and Gabriel Zamora, recreating the Kardashian/Jenner sisters' recent photo with their middle fingers up.
Harmless fun? Hardly. The photo, posted by Zamora, was captioned, "Bitch is bitter because when him we're doing better." The Twittersphere immediately saw that as throwing shade at Jeffree.
To throw salt in the wounds, Zamora then tweeted, "Imagine stanning a racist? I could never."
Just when you thought the feud that hit rock bottom, things took a turn for the worst. The Internet uncovered racist tweets and Snapchats made my Gabriel, Laura and Manny, subsequently exposing the trio as being hypocritical.
Laura posted an apology video of herself crying, which drew a lot criticism as many believed she was placing herself as the victim. The video, which has amassed nearly nine million views, has a whopping 711,000 dislikes. In the past 30 days alone, Laura Lee's makeup channel has lost nearly 470,000 subscribers.
Gabriel since posted his own apology, accusing Laura and Manny for being fraudulent after trying to place the blame entirely on Gabriel and distance themselves from the scandal. Finally, Manny posted his own apology video, titled "My reality check", which is receiving a barrel of online hate as well. In fact, it's already received over 140,000 dislikes.

James Charles

Star also got his well-manicured hands into the James Charles-Tati Westbrook drama that unfolded this year. (Read everything you need to know about that here.)
Despite being friends with Charles in the past and appearing in several of his videos, Star backed up Westbrook's explosive claims that Charles specifically target straight men and harassed them.
Star tweeted, "There is a reason that Nathan banned James Charles from ever coming over to our home again. There's a reason why I haven't seen him since @GlamLifeGuru's birthday in February. He is a danger to society. Everything Tati said is 100% true."
After tweeting that, Star's merchandise production company dropped Charles' merch, Sisters Apparel, as a client.
However, because the drama is never-ending, Star then went back (again) on Charles. In a video titled "Never Doing This Again," Star apologised for his treatment of Charles, admitting that his claims were based on rumours not fact.
"You guys saw a lot of text messages. There were things being told to me that were never proven, um there was a lot of rumors, and sadly I let that get to me. So James, I want to say that I should have never sent you those messages, I should have been a better friend, I know that now and even if we weren't close friends anymore, I should have handled it way differently."
