You Can Now Get Your Hands On KylieSkin
Kylie Jenner is quickly taking up our entire makeup bag with all of her lip kits, eye shadow palettes, and brow pencils. And now, she’s taking over our skincare routine, too. After teasing her new skincare line’s walnut scrub last week, which sparked serious controversy, we finally have all the deets on the entire collection that officially launched today on KylieSkin.com. Here we break down everything you need to know about the lineup, from the packaging to the ingredients.
The Packaging & Product Line Up
First off, the packaging is pretty in millennial pink with minimal branding in white letters. It is very ‘grammable and will look gorgeous in your skincare grotto while each product is housed in a plastic, opaque container, to keep the ingredients as fresh as possible. What’s in the collection? Offering a range of products including makeup remover wipes, an eye cream, a face moisturizer, a foaming cleanser, a vitamin C serum, a vanilla milk toner, and that walnut cleanser we’ve heard oh so much about, the prices range between $20 and $28 and the full set is available for $125. There’s also a very trendy see-through bag to house the full set.
Now let’s get to the products and their ingredients, which are always the most important part of any skincare product. While KylieSkin claims that all of its products are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and do not contain any parabens or sulphates (harmful chemicals often found in beauty products) it’s worth reading our take below.
Foaming Face Wash, $24
The foaming face wash might be our fave of the current KylieSkin lineup. It features vitamins C and E, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate (the best form of hyaluronic acid for skin), and coconut. Plus, the pump allows the product to foam up on your hands — who doesn’t love patting bubbles on their cheeks? Foaming textures feel amazing, plain and simple.
Vanilla Milk Toner, $22
Next up, the vanilla milk toner is a gentle essence that goes on as your first skincare step after cleansing. Toners also work best when applied directly to wet skin (trust us, it makes a huge difference). On the ingredients list, KylieSkin’s toner includes apple fruit extract, avocado and apricot and kernel oil, and squalane. Squalane is a vegan oil derivative that is produced from olives, super moisturizing.
Face Moisturizer, $24
The moisturizer contains shea butter, fruit extracts, alow, and glycerin. Folks who have acne-prone skin should be aware that shea butter can clog pores, so always patch test your products before slathering it all over your stunning face.
Eye Cream, $20
The eye cream contains a blend of caffeine, green tea extract, probiotics, and pomegranate extract. According to the brand, caffeine temporarily reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while the extracts gently exfoliate the skin. It also contains vitamin E and vitamin C; both of which are antioxidants, and the latter will help brighten skin and boost the effectiveness of SPF (which you should be wearing every day! No exceptions!). Another key ingredient Jojoba oil helps, known for keeping the eye area moisturized. Still, those with sensitive skin should note the presence of pomegranate extract, as it may be irritating.
Vitamin C Serum, $28
The vitamin C serum is packed with its namesake ingredient, as well as antioxidants to protect your skin from free radicals. Olive fruit oil, soybean oil, grape seed oil, and camellia leaf extract will keep your skin feeling bouncy and bright. This serum should go on during the day time, because vitamin C helps your SPF work its hardest. Still, with all the oils in this serum, make sure your products are compatible to avoid pilling.
