Rene Furterer Melaleuca Anti-Dandruff Shampoo – Review
The Rene Furterer Melaleuca Anti-Dandruff Shampoo comes in a tube Packaging with a flip open cap. The shampoo is a Yellow colored liquid which is slightly runnier than most shampoos. Melaleuca means tea tree and this contains Tea tree oil as one of the anti-dandruff agents. Hence, it smells like tea tree oil, a herbal, slightly clinical scent. The shampoo lathers fairly well but not too heavily. Unfortunately, its not free from sulphates and contains SLES (Sodium Laureth Sulphate) which is not as harsh as SLS but nonetheless, not the most desirable foaming agent in a shampoo.
The shampoo cleans well and regular use does help Purify and Cleanse the scalp. Whether it be product buildup on the scalp or dry, flaking dandruff, this helps eliminate it with regular use without drying out the hair. Mass brand anti-dandruff shampoos can dry out the hair leaving it a frizzy mess but this shampoo leaves my hair feeling clean, bouncy and fresh. It contains Safflower seed oil which I think helps in keeping the drying part out of the picture and it also contains ZInc Pyrithione which curbs the growth of fungus. This compound is also found in most cheap dandruff shampoos so its a particularly exotic or natural ingredient.
