Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West welcomed their new son, Psalm, only two weeks ago, but the little guy is already business-savvy. Well, at least his mom is (obviously — duh). Shortly after he was born, over a dozen separate trademark applications were filed for the name Psalm West, and while that may seem strange for any baby who isn't in the Kardashian-Jenner realm, it's actually not the least bit surprising that the applications cover the possibility that the newborn may want to eventually launch a beauty brand.

Refinery29 reports that Kim's corporation, Kimsaprincess Inc., filed 16 trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for Psalm West on May 18, a little more than a week after he was born. Among the types of products that may end up being associated with the infant: hair accessories (barrettes, scrunchies, extensions, etc.), skin care (moisturizer, serums, face oils, etc.), fragrances, and nail polish, to name just a few.

But if Psalm doesn't want to follow his mother and aunt Kylie Jenner into the business biz, Kim has come prepared. The vast majority of the trademark applications cover a huge range of other types of products, like baby care (cribs, pacifiers, and nearly every other baby product you can imagine), toys, jewelry, paper goods, underwear, and even computer software.

Now, this idea didn't just come to Kim when Psalm when born. According to the USPTO's records, Kim applied for similar trademarks for her other children — North, Saint, and Chicago — back in February. She probably already knew she wanted to treat Psalm to the same trademarks; she simply didn't know his name yet.

It's hard to say if any of the West kids will want to launch namesake beauty brands — or if Kim and Kanye will definitely want to launch brands for them — but the family clearly wants to eliminate any possibility of someone else cashing in on their names.
