Blake Shelton may not have taken the victory on the 16th season of NBC’s The Voice, but the Oklahoma native has plenty more to celebrate, like the opening of his brand new music venue in his Tishomingo hometown: The Doghouse.

The concert hall officially opened on Thursday, May 23 and they did it in grand style with Blake’s good pal, Luke Bryan providing the fun and entertainment from the stage. Gwen shared the big night in her Instagram story as she stood backstage while Blake took the stage to introduce his pal Luke.

In the midst of her story, Blake and Gwen are together backstage and in a celebratory moment of the opening of the new venue, which is part of his Ole Red family of entertainment and dining venues, the loving couple shared a smooch.

Of course, there was plenty of fun behind-the-scenes as well. Luke and Blake shared a romantic…well, it is…toast with cocktails the size of Volkswagon’s before the show began and, from the looks of that platter, the tacos must be pretty good

In addition to celebrating the opening of The Doghouse, we’re pretty sure Blake and Gwen are feeling good about another announcement that affects their lives. As we reported, Gwen will return to a big red chair on NBC’s The Voice for their 17th season. Sadly and very surprisingly, she’s taking the place of one of the show’s original coaches, Adam Levine.

While we’re sure Blake is thrilled to have Gwen as part of the show, he’s obviously struggling with losing one of his best buds from the line-up. On Twitter, he said he was having a hard time wrapping his head around the news.

Kelly Clarkson also tweeted that it would be weird to show up for work and not have the Maroon
5 frontman there.
