Best Exfoliating Foot Scrub – Make At Home

- мая 16, 2019

Exfoliating Foot ScrubMost of us follow a Cleansing, Toning & Moisturizing skin care routine to keep our face-skin beautiful, but often neglect our feet. We overlook the fact that our feet too undergo lots of stress every day. Not only the extreme weathers like summers and winters can be rough on our feet, but also quite often we walk barefoot.

Taking care of your appearance, but neglecting feet eventually leads to cracked & aged feet, which conflict with the rest of your body. Actually, our feet require just as much of care as our face.

We have selected some highly effective natural foot scrub recipes to help exfoliate your feet & keep your tootsies in tip-top appearance.

# 1

Refreshing Peppermint Foot Scrub

Try this natural foot scrub to eliminate the dry skin off your feet and give them a soothing tingle.

Peppermint helps improve blood circulation. It has anti-fugal properties, which can help protect your nails from fungus infection.  Moreover, peppermint oil contains menthol – which provides cooling sensation.

You will need:

(i) Epsom Salt: ½ cup – Check here the current price

(ii) Sugar: ½ cup

(iii) Coconut oil: ½ cup, melted – check here the current price.

(iv)Peppermint Essential Oil: 8-10 drops – check here the current price.

Method:

(i) Combine the Epsom salt & sugar in a mixing bowl. Mix them well until the two ingredients are evenly combined and you get a thick, grainy consistency paste.

(ii) Mix the peppermint essential oil with the melted coconut oil.  You may add more if you like, but avoid going overboard; peppermint oil is very strong! Slowly pour the melted oil into the mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix completely until you have uniform consistency scrub.

How To Apply

Pour enough warm water in a basin and soak your feet for ten to 15 minutes. Clean the area around your toe nails with a nailbrush. Use a pumice stone gently to remove dry skin from the heel. Now apply a generous amount of the scrub and rub it all over your feet. You will immediately feel some tingling sensation! Rinse with warm water and towel dry your feet pat dry.

# 2

Refreshing Lemon Foot Scrub

This natural citrus exfoliation scrub is good for sloughing off dry skin & dead skin cells from your feet.

You will need:

(i) Granulated cane sugar: 2 cups

(ii) Coconut oil: 1/4 to 1/3 cup, melted

(iii) Lemon juice: ½ lemon, freshly squeezed

(iv) Lemon essential oil: 6-8 drops (optional) – check here the current price

Method:

(i) Mix thoroughly all of the ingredients in a medium sized glass bowl until you get uniform, wet-sand type consistency.

(ii) If you have preference for a coarser textured scrub then add more sugar, but 1 teaspoon at a time. If you want a more liquid type scrub then add more oil.

(iii) Transfer the scrub to a clean, airtight container and store in a cool, dark place. When you want to use, just stir it, take out about one tablespoon or more and scrub your both feet.

# 3

Milk Foot Scrub – Cracked Heels Treatment

You will need:

Milk: 1 cup

Warm water: 5 cups

Sugar: 4-5 tablespoons

Baby oil: 1/2 cup (or coconut oil)

Method:

(i) Start with this foot soak. Pour 1 cup of milk and 5 cups of hot water (not so hot to burn your feet) in a footbath tub or a basin large enough for your feet. Soak your feet for 5 to ten minutes or until water is no longer hot.

While the hot water works to soften skin, the milk’s lactic acid will help to gently breakdown dead skin cells. At the same time, the fat present in the milk will moisturize your feet & prepare them for more effective scrubbing.

(ii) For the scrub: In a bowl, mix the oil and the sugar well to get a thick paste. You may need to adjust the amount of oil & sugar to form thick paste. The sugar helps in exfoliating your feet.

(iii) Apply the scrub all over feet & massage in circular motions. Follow with a pumice stone scrub, focusing on the heels and calloused areas. Rinse, pat dry and then apply more coconut oil or petroleum jelly to the bottom of the feet. To deeply hydrate, put on cozy socks for few hours or overnight.

# 4

Brown Sugar Exfoliating Foot Scrub

This foot scrub not only exfoliates the skin on your feet, but deeply nourishes as well. While brown sugar exfoliates & olive oil moisturizes, the peppermint essential oil provides your feet a fresh sensation.

You will need:

(i) Brown sugar: 2 tablespoon

(ii) Olive oil: 2 tablespoon

(iii) Peppermint essential oil: 2 drops

Method

(i) Mix all the ingredients in a bowl well to get a thick paste.

(ii) Apply this mixture on to your feet and scrub for five to 10 minutes.

(iii) Leave this scrub on your feet for at least 20 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.

Choose any one of the above four scrubs and work onto your feet for 5-10 minutes and rinse it off. Your feet will thank you for giving them a refreshing SPA treatment.
