Elle Fanning Wore a Tulle Cape to the Cannes Film Festival Closing Ceremony
It’s official: Elle Fanning ruled the Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
The Teen Spirit star has been serving up serious looks in France throughout the nearly two-week-long festival, gracing us with bold ball gowns, retro haute couture, and so much more. So really, it’s no surprise that the actress’s closing ceremony look was a show-stopper. On Saturday, May 25, Elle hit the red carpet for the closing ceremony screening of The Specials in an ethereal, crystal-adorned gown. The dress featured layers of flowing tulle and a stunning cape to top it off. The (also tulle) cape was held together at the neck with a crystal choker and bow in front, and decorated with even more sparkling crystals along the back.
Elle completed the dazzling look with a sleek topknot and understated makeup, including slightly shimmering eyeshadow, a hint of blush, and a pink lip. Her jewelry — particularly the sapphire drop earrings and sapphire ring with a crystal halo — added a glamorous and regal pop of color to the otherwise champagne-and-white ensemble.
This was actually Elle’s second cape of Cannes: She attended the festival’s opening ceremony in a pink silk Gucci gown with an equally gorgeous, attached cape. One more and we’re pretty sure we can officially declare capes to be Elle’s “thing” — and we are totally okay with that.
